Since 1997 Calgary Community Day Services has been dedicated to providing a unique day service to seniors and mature adults with developmental disabilities who, by chronological age or by handicapping condition (i.e. dementia) would benefit from such a service. The emphasis is on community presence while caring for the unique needs of seniors. Services are flexible and provide a wide range of choices to the individual. The focus of the service is recreation and leisure with the objective being to enhance the quality of life of the individuals served.

Arts and Crafts
Physical Activity
Self-Help Skill Development
Integrated Recreation
Social Skill Development
Social Skill Enhancement
| Since the program has a strong community inclusion component there will be many venues in Calgary that clients will access accompanied by a support worker. For example, The Kerby Centre, Seniors Clubs, public libraries, City of Calgary Parks and Recreation Centres etc. Components of this service will promote community involvement in natural settings and provide support and encouragement to pursue new experiences that will enhance participant’s quality of life. |
| Clients wishing to access service with CCDS must first be approved for funding through Disability Services and the Calgary Regional Community Board. |
